Additionally, there were concerns regarding the air quality during the US Fourth of July celebrations next week. Smoke has floated over enormous areas of the US and Canada this week. On Friday, urban communities including New York, Toronto, Montreal and Washington DC were close to the first spot on a list of significant urban areas with world's most exceedingly terrible air quality. Montreal's Canada Day display, scheduled for Saturday night, and the first night of an annual fireworks competition have both been postponed. However, a celebration is still scheduled to take place in Toronto.
