👉A 37-year-old Kitchener man was arrested after intentionally shooting fireworks at people in Waterloo on Canada Day. Around 10:30 p.m. on July 1, the man fired at two victims on Central Street, including Ward 7 Waterloo Councillor Julie Wright. Wright, biking home with her family, confronted the man, who then shot a firecracker at her, hitting her face but causing no significant injury. The man was charged with assault with a weapon and assault.
