👉Greater Sudbury has recouped just over $1 million of the $1.5 million it inadvertently sent to fraudsters in December. The city realized the funds meant for a Lorraine Street housing project had been sent to a fake account after the contractor's email was hacked. Although the project faced challenges with the original contractor, Nomodic Modular Structures, going bankrupt, the subsequent contractor, Flex Modular, also fell victim to hacking. Sudbury initiated legal action to trace the money, recovering $1,044,259.13 to date. The city aims to reclaim more funds, with the court addressing the matter on March 6.✅ .
