๐Toronto is actively recruiting approximately 100 frontline workers for its community crisis service addressing mental health emergencies. This initiative marks the city's fourth emergency response service, distinct from the police, paramedics, and fire services. Mayor Olivia Chow expressed pride in the service, highlighting its potential to offer an alternative to police intervention in mental health crises. The expansion of this non-police, community-based response is planned by year-end. With a client-centered and trauma-informed approach, the service received nearly 7,000 calls last year, 78% of which were redirected from 911. . #TorontoCrisisResponse #MentalHealthSupport #CommunityWellness #NonPoliceResponse #HiringNow #FrontlineWorkers #EmergencyServices #mnm #malayalisnearmeapp #canadaupdate #canadanews
