๐A taxi scam is spreading across Canada, with fake drivers targeting passengers and stealing debit cards during payment. Kathryn Kozody from Calgary fell victim to the scheme after a long day at a work event. She entered what appeared to be a legitimate taxi, paid with her debit card, only to discover the next day that $2,000 was missing from her account and her card had been swapped with a fake. Kozody's experience mirrors reports of $1.7 million in losses in Toronto since June 2023. Amazon has refused to stop selling taxi roof signs used in the scam. ๐๐จ๐ฆ @jom_mattam . . #TaxiScam #DebitCardFraud #FakeDrivers #CanadaCrime #ProtectYourself #FraudAlert #ScamAwareness #mnm #malayalisnearmeapp #canadaupdate #canadanews
