Giving up his rental in Vancouver after a vacation, Chen discovered the increased housing costs upon his return. In response, he opted for a cost-effective alternative, flying from Calgary for about $150 round trip. With only two classes per week, the monthly flight expense of $1,200 proves substantially cheaper than Vancouver's average one-bedroom rent of $2,100.
