👉On Wednesday, a gender studies class at the University of Waterloo allegedly saw three people stabbed. One of the alleged perpetrators, according to the police, has been taken into custody. According to AP, authorities have stated that they will provide additional information in the future, so it is currently unknown what motivated the attack at Hagey Hall at the university. The victims are currently receiving treatment at a hospital. Yusuf Kaymak, a student at the University of Waterloo, stated that the incident occurred in a 40-student gender studies class at the time. While interacting with the media, he stated, "The guy walked in and asked the teacher if he was the professor, he said 'yeah,' then he pulled out a knife and everyone just ran out." To clear the university's buildings and ensure public safety, a greater police presence is likely. The University of Waterloo stated in a series of tweets that they are assisting the Waterloo regional police in their investigation and that Hagey Hall on the campus has since been cleared.
