๐University of Waterloo's third-year geography and aviation students, including pilots Matthew Toy, Chase Cardoza, Nikith Challa, and Isabelle Mazzoco, explore the impact of noise pollution from flights at the Region of Waterloo International Airport. Using geographic information systems (GIS) and government data, they found noise levels ranging from 86 to 90 decibels at the source, affecting communities in Kitchener, Waterloo, and Cambridge. The study reveals that smaller aircraft impact 10,000 to 15,000 people on a flight path, while larger jets, like Boeing 737s, can affect up to half a million people. . #UniversityResearch #AirportNoiseStudy #AviationStudents #UniversityOfWaterloo #GISAnalysis #Waterloo #NoisePollutionImpact #mnm #malayalisnearmeapp #canadaupdate #canadanews
