Canada Implements Cap on Start-Up Visa Applications to Expedite Processing Times
β Canada's Immigration Minister Marc Miller announced a cap on permanent residence applications through the Start-Up Visa Program. Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada will limit yearly applications to no more than 10 start-ups per designated organization. This move is part of efforts to reduce processing times and address application backlogs in federal business programs. Priority processing will be given to entrepreneurs supported by Canadian capital or Tech Network-affiliated business incubators. Additionally, a pause on application intake for the Self-Employed Persons Program aims to focus on backlog processing. These changes, effective April 30, aim to decrease wait times while attracting innovative newcomers.
