✅Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) will double the cost-of-living requirement for study permit applicants to $20,635 starting January 1, 2024. The adjustment aims to reflect the increased cost of living in Canada. The department will annually update the requirement based on Statistics Canada's low-income cut-off. The new guidelines will apply to the Student Direct Stream, expediting processing for residents of 14 countries. IRCC is also extending the 20-hour work cap waiver for international students until April 30, 2024.
