👉About 2,200 GO Transit workers will go on strike just after midnight on Monday after a deal could not be reached between the Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU) Local 1587 and Metrolinx on Sunday. As of 12:01 a.m. on Monday morning, there will be no GO bus service, though buses that began their trip before midnight will complete their routes. Trains and the Union Pearson Express will continue to operate, and stations will remain open. Metrolinx has encouraged riders to plan ahead and give themselves extra time for their commute. GO Transit scheduling updates can be found on gotransit.com or on GO Transit’s social media pages.✅ . . #gotransit #gotransitstrike #strike #canadastrike #strikeincanada #canadiapublicmovementds #Canadiantransportsystem #mnm #malayalisnearmeapp #canadaupdate #canadanews

👉The Canadian government has stated that the demands made by striking workers are unaffordable and could have serious implications for the country's economy. Approximately 100,000 federal public service employees, represented by the Public Service Alliance of Canada, are currently on strike across the country, demanding better pay, working conditions, and job security. However, the government claims that the demands could cost billions of dollars and lead to significant cuts in services. Negotiations between the union and the government have been ongoing since late last year, but a resolution has not been reached. With the strike continuing, the impact on essential services is beginning to be felt, and the government's stance is causing controversy among workers and the public.✅ . . #CanadaStrike #PublicServiceAllianceofCanada #StrikingWorkers #LaborRights #JobSecurity #FairPay #WorkingConditions #mnm #malayalisnearmeapp #canadaupdate #canadanews

👉The premier of Canada’s most populous province is under fire for a “draconian” bill that would fine school support staff C$4,000 a day for striking, prompting concerns that Ontario is eroding fundamental workers’ rights and setting a troubling precedent. The Canadian Union of Public Employees, which represents 55,000 education workers, has called for an 11.3% raise for its workers often the lowest paid in schools arguing that stagnant wage growth and high inflation have hit the lowest earners hardest. The government has countered with a 2.5% annual raise for the lowest income workers and 1.5% raises for others. With little progress on negotiations and a strike planned on Friday, the government fast-tracked Bill 28. If passed, the controversial legislation which fines workers C$4,000 a day and the union C$500,000 for striking.✅ . . #Canadianworkersstrike #strike #canadastrike #canadianstrikes #strikesincanada #draconian #Canadianunionofpublicemployees #OntarioNews #Canadanews #dailynewscanada #candadianmallu #mnm #malayalisnearmeapp #canadaupdate #canadanews
