✨Honorable Immigration Minister Sean Fraser launched the extension of Post graduate work permits from August 2, 2022. With this policy, post graduates will continue to contribute to the Canadian economy which in turn will serve the Canadian Economy.
✨Foreign nationals having expired or expiring work permits will be able to work in Canada for an additional 18 months by either extending their work permit or applying for a new one.
👉🏻To help individuals get back to work, IRCC will be granting interim work authorizations to the PGWP applicants whose work permits have already expired.
👉🏻WHO IS ELIGIBLE?
‼️Post Graduate Work Permit Holders whose work permit has expired or is expiring during the period of September 20, 2021- December 31, 2022.
‼️Applicants to temporary resident to permanent resident pathways who have not yet received a final decision on their application.
👉🏻Fortunately, this extension will help a lot of international students to have a valid status in Canada while awaiting their Invitation to Apply for Permanent Residence or complete their Work experience to qualify for Permanent Residence in the Canadian Experience Class.
👉🏻Additionally, it gives TR to PR Applicants an opportunity to maintain a valid status while awaiting the decision on their Permanent Residence application. This work permit will be valid until December 31, 2024 or until their passport expiry, whichever is earlier.
