Canada Extends Post-Graduation Work Permit for Master's Students to 3 Years
β Effective February 15, 2024, the Canadian government has extended the post-graduation work permit (PGWP) validity for international students graduating from Master's degree programs in Canada. Those completing programs under 2 years will now be eligible for a 3-year PGWP, provided they meet all other eligibility criteria. This update, announced on February 5, 2024, is part of the "Additional information about International Student Program reforms." Recognizing Master's graduates as strong candidates for success in the Canadian job market and potential candidates for permanent residence, the extended PGWP allows them to accumulate the required Canadian work experience for future immigration applications.
