👉Ottawa’s photo radar camera on King Edward Avenue, monitoring the road between Cathcart Street and St. Patrick Street, issued 18,150 tickets in its first three months. In May, it issued 4,778 tickets, following 7,569 in March and 5,803 in April. Across Ottawa, 40 cameras issued 154,341 speeding tickets from January to May 2024. The King Edward Avenue camera was the busiest, with other high-ticket cameras on Walkley Road and St. Laurent Boulevard. 👉In its first month of operation, the new photo radar camera in Ottawa's Lowertown neighbourhood caught 7,569 speeders on King Edward Avenue. This camera recorded an average of 244 speeding violations daily in March, marking the highest number of tickets issued by a single camera since Ottawa's automated speed enforcement program began in 2020. Citywide, Ottawa's 40 photo radar cameras issued a total of 43,416 speeding tickets in March, with plans to expand the program to 60 cameras by the end of 2024.
