Canada Updates Spousal Work Permit Eligibility for International Students' Partners
โ Canada has revised the eligibility criteria for open work permits for spouses and common-law partners of international students. Effective for applications received from March 19 onwards, partners are eligible if the student holds a valid study permit and is enrolled in specific degree programs. These include masterโs or doctoral programs at universities or polytechnic institutions, or certain professional degree programs such as dentistry, law, medicine, and nursing. Applicants must provide proof of the student's enrollment, such as a letter of acceptance or proof of enrollment, along with documents demonstrating their relationship to the student.
