๐Ÿ‘‰Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland announced a two-year extension to the ban on foreign ownership of Canadian housing. With concerns over foreign money driving up real estate prices and impacting housing affordability, the ban, initially set to expire on January 1, 2025, will now remain in effect until January 1, 2027. This move aims to address worries about Canadians being priced out of housing markets in various cities. The government emphasizes its commitment to utilizing all available tools to enhance housing affordability, part of a broader economic plan that includes collaborative efforts with different levels of government to accelerate home construction.โœ… . . #WorkplaceInclusivity #RacismAwareness #DiversityInBusiness #EqualityMatters #KPMGSurvey #BlackProfessionals #GenderDisparities #mnm #malayalisnearmeapp #canadaupdate #canadanews

๐Ÿ‘‰Canada's Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has recently released a comprehensive report shedding light on the persistent issue of racism its employees encounter. The report delves into the views on racism embedded in policies, programs, and practices within the ministry, and outlines potential areas for improvement. Despite some progress, the report reveals a concerning reality: 63% of participants ranked racism as a significant problem at IRCC, giving it a rating of seven or higher on a scale. Notably, incidents of racism were found to be more widespread in IRCC's foreign postings compared to its local offices. Among the unsettling incidents reported by participants, some involved managers mocking the accents of Locally Engaged Staff (LES) working in IRCC's foreign offices. Instances of asking LES to repeat themselves, feigning misunderstanding, and outright ignoring them at work were documented, raising severe concerns about workplace discrimination. The release of this report signifies the ministry's commitment to address and rectify issues related to racism within its ranks and create a more inclusive and equitable work environment.โœ… . . #IRCCAntiRacism #InclusionMatters #EquityAtWork #AddressingRacism #DiversityInAction #WorkplaceEquality #RacismAwareness #mnm #malayalisnearmeapp #canadaupdate #canadanews
