Sudbury 6, at 0.3 hectares, is held on the Wolseley River's north shore. Sudbury 7, a 0.2-hectare fire, is uncontrolled near Armstrong Lake. Existing fires include Bancroft 4, 5, and 6, Chapleau 2, Sault Ste Marie 3, Timmins 1 and 2, with varied control statuses. The fire hazard is moderate to high, with some areas extreme. 👉An out-of-control wildfire is raging near Fort McMurray, Alberta, burning 28 kilometers southwest of the city. As of Friday 9 a.m., the fire covers 25 hectares. The Fort McMurray Forest Area faces "extreme" wildfire danger, according to the Alberta Wildfire website. Lack of rain led to a fire ban in the Grande Prairie Forest Area.
